I added this short ‘poem’ to a complex image caught on the South Bank in London.
Images should and do speak for themselves but I also like the bringing together of words and images. Is there a term for such a creation – such as a ‘poem-otograph’? This one includes the themes of appearance and reality, worlds within worlds, echoes and memories etc.
The words should not be explanatory, or a label, or an interpretation – but should be a ‘multiplier’, so that along with the image provide richer & deeper means for meaning-making – mine, the photographer, and anyone else who looks upon it with a compassionate eye.
