Omid Djalili, The BBC ‘White’ season and the British Disease of Cynicism

A very fine review of the Iranian-British comedian Omid Djalili is to be found HERE

The BBC deserves much praise for the depth and variety of its programming in its current ‘White’ season see HERE

Both Djalili and the BBC season are making massive contributions to understanding, and making bridges across, the racial and religious divides in the UK.

From the season I would particularly mention Abi Morgans minor master-piece ‘White Girl’ see HERE for a goed review. That such brilliant work is given space and major airtime indicates that the BBC is regaining its confidence following its fall from grace.

It is further admirable given the miserable and cynical criticism from some quarters – something of a British disease in the UK Intelligensia.
